Well this is BS. The Cult of Diablos, under the direction of the Professor, pulls resources into the city to find the controller of the Eye... and he had it already. In fact, he had his adopted patsy daughter researching it. Thus, there is no reason to pull resources. There is no reason for a visible hostage situation at the school. There is no reason for... well ... anything to happen. There isn't even a reason to search for the artifact the Professor already had under his control and supervision.
